The Web is the Ultimate Format

Rachel Nabors

I love this idea, and it’s true! It can do any kind of text-based mediums like books, essays, etc, as well as all kinds of other multimedia with various image types and expressive typography, comics, audio, video, interactive stuff, and any combination of these. All in a platform that runs on many devices and is designed to be sustained and maintained long-term.

I wonder how the negative bias humans tend to have interacts with the idea of “rose-tinted glasses“. Are they two sides of the same coin, and we eventually counteract the negative things and discard them? Got around to exploring the new tag processor that’s the first part of WordPress’ HTML API, and it is super cool. Really interested to see other tools that help work with blocks on the server. Every once in a while I need to update blocks en masse (like just recently, which is why I tried out this new API) and PHP is really the only way of doing that, outside of editing one page at a time. Setting up block transforms and deprecations in the editor is cool but it can be hard to manage that at scale.

Dynamic Scroll Offset Via Custom Properties

Maybe you have a large project where there is a sticky header on some pages and not others, or the sticky header changes size based on content. By default if you use an anchor link to jump down to a section of the page it will line up the target…
